History:
Jim Durbin started playing a chord organ at age 4 and began 10 years of piano lessons at 5. He performed on numerous TV shows before he was 15 and was chosen as the best player in his category for a state wide contest at age 14. He played his first professional gig at 13 with his own horn band, and after studying Jazz & Composition at Morehead State University, toured with various bands performing for Princess Caroline of Monaco during her prenuptual ceremonies in 1978 at Maxim's in Paris, and in Saudi Arabia for a 10 day concert performance, and even performing with Johnny Paycheck and Little Anthony among others.. He was declared to be the best keyboard player in the largest booking agency in the S.E. USA - Ted Skorman Productions, and toured the "A" rooms for show bands: Atlantic City, Las Vegas, Cruise Ships, Adams Mark, & Marriott Hotels. Locally, he's played jazz with Jaqueline Jones, been an R&B/funky Brenda White white boy, played country/rock with Austin at the beach, rock/pop/dance with The Boomers, and played all the better Orlando area clubs with top 40 band Triple Threat. His first studio gig was landed as a senior in high school composing, playing & engineering radio Jingles. Jim began working in recording studios full time in 1987 and designed and constructed his first studio "Key Studios, Inc." in Jacksonville, FL in 1989. Since then, he has recorded over 250 albums. mastered over 50, engineered both live and in the studio for Platinum, Gold and Grammy winning artists, and in his spare time has mastered computers and still plays live with his church music ministry.
